You will find below, details of the terms and conditions of sale related to a “BristolBlue” Staffordshire Bull Terrier. The Puppy Sales Agreement has been written to provide detail to the new owner of one of our puppies of what is required of them.
You must understand that the breeder has the welfare and future of the puppy forever at heart and as such has laid out the terms below, not to scare / put off potential owners of our dogs… but to ensure that the new owner agrees to abide by the terms prior to commencing ownership of a “BristolBlue” Staffordshire Bull Terrier puppy.
Whilst our intention is never to offend any person(s), we do ask probing questions of potential owners and you must be prepared to answer all of our questions as to your suitability as a potential owner of one of our “BristolBlue” pups honestly, openly and accurately.
We only pry because we have our pups welfare at heart.
You should not attempt to buy a “BristolBlue” Puppy and sign this Contract unless you intend to be bound by its terms.

1. Certain breeds of dogs may be affected by disease, some of which are genetic, or partly genetic in origin. You acknowledge that the breeder has acted responsibly by breeding the Staffordshire Bull Terrier puppy through dogs proven to be clear of known hereditary diseases that affect the breed: L2-HGA, HC, PHPV & PPSC.
1.1 You have been advised by me to consult a Veterinary Surgeon to discuss this Breed and any potential problems the breed may have. A Veterinary Surgeon is the person best qualified to advise you on such matters.
I believe the Puppy to be in good health, but give no warranty to its health.
2. You are advised to take the Puppy to your Veterinary Surgeon for a general health check within 48 hours (Two Days) of the purchase / collection date (whichever is the latter). The check and any associated tests, examination or certificates, will be at your expense as you hereby acknowledge and agree to.
3. If your Veterinary Surgeon finds any problem which in his opinion renders the “BristolBlue” Puppy unfit for sale, you may return the Puppy for a full refund of the purchase price provided that:
3.1 You specifically confirm that I will not be held responsible for any distress to any parties caused by the return of the “BristolBlue” Puppy.
3.2 You are solely liable for any costs associated with the return of the “BristolBlue” Puppy to me.
3.3 The “BristolBlue” Puppy is returned within 5 days of sale / collection in the same state of health in which it was sold / collected.
3.4 You provide a signed written statement from your vet setting out the problem, the written statement must include the name and identifying microchip number of the “BristolBlue” puppy purchased from me.
3.5 You acknowledge that I am entitled to a second opinion by my vet and that my vets decision on the health of the “BristolBlue” puppy will be final. You may not be entitled to a refund should my vet deem the “BristolBlue” puppy to be in sound health or deem that the “BristolBlue” puppy’s health has deteriorated in the period following sale / collection through negligence on the part of the buyer.
4. You guarantee that you are not acting as an agent for a third party and that the “BristolBlue” Puppy will not be transferred to a third party, without my express permission in writing under any circumstances. If this clause is breached, and I am forced to locate the “BristolBlue” Puppy, you acknowledge that you will be liable for the costs of recovery, including overseas recovery if the “BristolBlue” Puppy is found to be exported, whether or not you knew the “BristolBlue” Puppy was exported.
5. You guarantee that your fencing is sufficient to keep an active Staffordshire Bull Terrier within your grounds, the grounds are free from toxic plants / vegetation and that this “BristolBlue” Puppy / Dog will not be kept permanently in a kennel or cage, or tied up and will not be regularly left unattended for periods longer than four hours.
6. You agree to properly house, feed, water and exercise this dog and will arrange for appropriate veterinary attention if and when required. Not allow it to roam at large or to cause a nuisance to neighbours or those carrying out official duties and when away from home will ensure that the dog wears a property tagged collar and shall be kept leashed or under effective control.
7. Should you have any tests undertaken on this dog including tests for PHPV & PPSC or any other tests which could be of interest to me due to their possible effect on future breeding programmes, a copy of the results will be passed to me. All tests to be undertaken at your cost.
8. You confirm that you will attend training/socialisation classes with this “BristolBlue” Puppy.
9. You agree to advise me at least twice a year of the “BristolBlue” puppy / dog’s progress by virtue of phone calls and photographs / video tapes showing the condition of the dog and will not hesitate to contact me with any problems or questions that you may have concerning the ownership of the dog. You also agree that any photographs and/or video’s of the dog may be added to the breeders website, at the breeders discretion.
10. You guarantee that if for any reason you are unable / unwilling to keep the “BristolBlue” Puppy/ Dog at any time, I will be given the first opportunity of re-homing at no financial loss to the breeder.
11. You will inform me of any and all changes of address and/or telephone numbers during the ownership of the “BristolBlue” dog.
12. The Kennel Club Registration Form states that this “BristolBlue” puppy cannot have an Export Certificate. I have placed this restriction as the laws in each country regarding the treatment / breeding of animals differ from those in the UK and I do not wish any dogs bred by me to be at risk of overbreeding / treatment which could be detrimental to health. Should you decide to permanently reside abroad or are a member of the armed services that may be posted abroad and provide me with proof of intent to reside abroad / current warrant card… this restriction may be lifted at my discretion.
13. The Kennel Club Registration Form states that the progeny from this Staffordshire Bull Terrier may not be registered. This means that should you breed from this dog you cannot register its offspring. This restriction may be lifted at my discretion should all health checks and tests have been carried out, if the dog has been shown and deemed by breed specialist judges to be a good specimen of the breed, and the proposed (health tested) mate has been approved by me in each instance.
14. This “BristolBlue” Puppy is sold as a Pet and no guarantees are made as to its potential as a “show” dog.
15. You have been informed that the breeder is a member of the Kennel Club Accredited Breeder Scheme and as such agree to provide the Kennel Club with accurate, honest feedback via “New Owner Questionnaire” within 14 days of purchasing the puppy.
16. You agree that this Puppy Sales Agreement (Contract) was available to you (either via the BristolBlueStaffords website or sent in hard copy) for approval / agreement prior to viewing the puppy and prior to you agreeing to be bound by its terms. This period (between viewing the Puppy Sales Agreement and viewing the Puppy) acts as a “cooling off” period whereby should you not agree to the terms set out within, you can decline to pursue your purchase of the puppy.
17. You agree that you will have sufficient cash funds with which to place a deposit (20% of purchase price) on a “BristolBlue” puppy when viewing the “BristolBlue” puppy, should you wish to reserve. Please note that any payment received by the breeder as deposit for the reservation of a “BristolBlue” puppy will not be refundable and no reservations of a “BristolBlue” puppy can be made without the payment of a deposit.
18. This Puppy Sales Agreement must be signed by the Purchaser at the time of making a reservation on a “BristolBlue” puppy. If you are planning on purchasing a “BristolBlue” puppy as a couple / in partnership, please contact us for further instruction.
19. The breeder will require a minimum of two original (not photocopied) forms of proof of personal identification (at least 1 x photographic & 1 x Utilities Bill no older than 3 months) from the buyer to show permanent residential address & date of birth, prior to a reservation being made on a “BristolBlue” puppy. Please note, we will not allow any person under the age of 21 to purchase one of our “BristolBlue” puppies. If you are under 21 years of age, please contact us for further instruction.
20. You agree to answer any questions posed by the breeder in their efforts to determine your suitability as an owner of a “BristolBlue” puppy. You agree to answer all questions posed by the breeder honestly, openly and accurately and will not hold back information / answers that may be required by the breeder as they endeavour to assess your suitability as an owner of one of their “BristolBlue” pups. The breeders decision as to whether to sell a “BristolBlue” puppy to any potential buyer is final, no correspondence or justification of refusal to sell will be entered into. Any information found to be given falsely and potentially prove detrimental to the puppy by the buyer, which may have resulted in the sale of a “BristolBlue” puppy by the breeder to the buyer, will result in the return of the “BristolBlue” puppy to the breeder with no refund of purchase price.
By signing this contract the Purchaser(s) confirm(s) that they have read and agree to wholeheartedly abide by all the terms set out within.
